Inclusive School Improvement

Supporting schools to become more responsive to the diversity of all children and adults, is a central theme within Willow Tree Learning. Willow Tree Learning has an alliance with the index for inclusion network (www.indexforinclusion.org) and promotes values led approaches to school improvement.

Willow Tree Learning and the Index for Inclusion network, can support communities to develop values led, participatory approaches to school improvement. Promoting the direct involvement of children, families, governors and all staff in the evaluation of their school and the creation of their own sense of ‘outstanding,’ not only meets the requirements of the Ofsted framework but exceeds it. School communities are able to explore their own aspirations for their learning environment and define their sense of improvement.
Activities available include:

  • Creating shared values to underpin improvement
  • Promoting learning and participation
  • Effective school improvement planning
  • Capturing the views of learners, parents/carers, governors and staff
  • Challenging the disconnect between values and action
  • Preparing for Ofsted and beyond
  • Responding to Ofsted and accounting to us
  • Improving attendance by understanding absence
  • Teaching and learning for all
